Baku" is a Japanese phantom beast that eats bad dreams. The name ‘Bak’ bank (collecting device) comes from the desire to gather many such positive, phantom-like beings around us in the future. Baku is said to have been made by connecting the last of the materials left over when God created animals. The body of the animal is said to be a patchwork of a bear's body, a tiger's limbs, a bull's tail, an elephant's nose, a rhino's eyes and a wild boar's tusks. It is truly kimekomi art!
